In 1883, Don Melchor Concha y Toro planted his first viniferous vines, Cabernet Sauvignon, at the foot of the majestic Andes Mountains. 100 years later, the visionary Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle encouraged the development of a wine that would faithfully express its origin. And so arose, in 1987, the first vintage of Don Melchor from the century-old vineyard in Puente Alto, a terroir of exceptional conditions for growing the best Cabernet Sauvignon in the world. Don Melchor's style, complexity, and elegance is the result of the perfect balance between the story Puente Alto soil, the generous Maipo Alto Valley climate, the cold winds that blow down from the Andes, the years that the vines have taken to offer their best grapes, and the meticulous care and detailed work of the human hand.
