Old Pirque Vineyard. Vineyard selection. Block: Las terrazas. Stepping through the Old Pirque Vineyard down toward the south bank of the Maipo River, Las Terrazas were first planted in the late-nineteenth century. Permeable stone and gravel soils constrain growth yielding small, succulent grapes exclusively for Terrunyo Cabernet Sauvignon. Climate: semi-arid Mediterranean. Cooling influences of the Andes and Maipo River temper hot days. Soil: nutrient-poor, alluvial gravelly loam. Altitude: 685, 675 and 630 meters above sea level. Vineyard block planted: 1978. Alc. 14% by vol. Produced and bottled in Chile.
